Today, from 10 am to 8 pm at Facelogic, if you head to the Highland Park location, you’ll get a free 20-minute MD Skincare facial. They’re calling the day “Glow and Go.” It may be a short facial, but it’s made up of two valuable procedures. One is an Alpha Beta Peel and the other is a skin care analysis, where you’ll get the 411 on your skin’s condition. Grab a complimentary cocktail while you’re there, too, and peruse the jewelry and art they’ll have set up in the shopping area. As if a peel and a drink aren’t enough, if you walk out having purchased an MD Skincare product worth $25, you’ll walk away with a $10 Facelogic gift card, too. Call right now and book an appointment for today. 214-696-3223
Don’t forget about the great sale and fun party we told you about at Madewell tonight! After all, who doesn’t love to party and shop?
Cedar Springs hosts a wine walk tonight. Five dollars is all it takes to get free-flowing wine from participating stores on our favorite gayborhood streets–pick up your glass from Buli Cafe’s tent. Full disclosure: there is an interesting mix of participants. (Read: Condom Sense.) Definitely head to Nuvo. Not only will you fill up your glass here, you’ll take 20 percent off your purchase from 6 pm to 9 pm. Look for one-of-a-kind gifts and an amazing card selection. You can stop in Outlines Men’s Wear, Union Jack, and Skivvies (an undies store) for your favorite metro man (and more wine and discounts). Buy a product, get one 50 percent off at Zen Salon. And, heck, after all the wine, maybe, just maybe, you’ll stop in Condom Sense, too. Check out shopcedarsprings.com for more information.
Madewell has become my new obsession (even though it’s been at NorthPark for four years now). In case you’re like me and have never heard of it, allow me to enlighten you. First I thought it was a boutique, however, I did my research and discovered it is actually owned by J.Crew. These two stores may share a CEO, but imagine Madewell as the hip, younger sister of J.Crew, who always looks perfectly undone. Plus, ShopTalkers will love the frugalista price point, with most denim at $80. Even better, moms and daughters can shop together! I love finding a store that my mother and I can both shop at (because then she usually buys me something).
To become as obsessed as I am, stop by Denim After Dark at Madewell this Thursday night from 7 pm to 9 pm. You’ll get 20 percent off all jeans, sweet treats from Citizen Sweet, and you can shop to the beats of a live set by DJ Select with cocktail in-hand. Still in college? Bring your student ID so you can get 15 percent off all merchandise in the store. Also, if you’re like me and have to hem every pair of jeans you buy, Madewell is offering free hemming Thursday night. So bring mom and let the in-store stylists dress you from head to toe for spring. NorthPark Center. Just show up to attend; no RSVPs required. 214-363-5414
We take pride in feeling like we discovered the lovely, talented, and (super) young Jane Aldridge first. Don’t know her? You’re one of the last. It’s okay, though, you can catch up here. Once you have, you’ll know that you can’t wait to see her and her mom at V.O.D. today. Rachel reports:
Take a detour on your way home from work today and stop by V.O.D. in Victory Park. You won’t want to miss this trunk show given by Atlantis Home and Sea of Shoes (yes, as in Jane Aldridge). Grab a free cocktail and peruse through their collection of ’70s and ’80s bold statement jewelry and belts. (Like the pieces pictured left.) They will be there from 6 pm to 9 pm, so stop by anytime!
And read about the new jacket fashioned by the fashionable duo here.
V Spa and online health newsletter Good News Girlz host “Fall in Love with Yourself” night. Sounds good to us. The evening will feature wine and light bites, mini spa treatments, mini manis or pedis, makeup refreshers, vintage clothing from Still Haute!, and prizes up for grabs. It’s free to attend, but you have to RSVP to rsvp@goodnewsgirlz.com. Men are welcome and the valet parking at V Spa is complimentary. Thursday, February 18 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Aside from weddings, what’s a better excuse to have your makeup professionally done than a hot V-Day date? Exactly. There are none. With that said, head on over to Uptown Makeup this weekend for their Valentine’s Makeover Event, featuring makeovers (obv.) and Valentini’s. While there is a two product minimum purchase with each makeover, trust us… they’ve got such a great selection, it’ll be hard to stick to just two. Saturday from 10 am-7pm and Sunday 1pm-6pm. Email mara@shopuptownmakeup.com to make an appointment.
Right about now I am wishing I was beachside…but I’ll settle for freezing temps in New York to cover fashion week I suppose. If you are going to be here in Dallas this Thursday, be sure to stop by Elaine Turner at NorthPark Center from 6-8 PM to escape the chill (at least mentally) and view the Texas designer’s latest handbags and accessories for spring 2010 (we love the Morocan Moon and Zanzibar collection) as well as new jewelry by Janna Conner (fans include Diane Kruger, Madonna, & Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen), which starts at just $45. Don’t miss the chance to win a free handbag, jewelry, or pair of shoes with a raffle ticket. 20% of all purchases from the evening will benefit Paws Cause. This is a good opportunity for all you last-minute shoppers to pick something up for your loved one – like this gold enamel heart ring – it’s only $45!
Thursday, February 11, Occhiali Modern Optics is hosting a trunk show with eyewear designers, Seraphin and Alain Mikkli from 5 pm to 7 pm. “Freshtinis” will be served. (Yes!) In honor of this event, Occhiali is providing us with a great piece for a giveaway. (It’s difficult to let this giveaway go, honestly.) But we’re giving away a pair of Seraphin frames. Note: prescription lenses will cost you and sunglass lenses are available. (Value between $200 and $300.) Don’t you love the ones pictured above? Seraphin has a bit of a retro look, while Alain Mikkli, a French designer, goes more modern. Both lines are incredibly stylish and worn by celebrities. To win this pair, just fill out our form here and good luck. And we hope to see you at Occhiali on Thursday. Fashion mixed with any ‘tini gets our attendance. 8304 Preston Center Plaza. 214-368-2777. No RSVP required.
What’s the Dallas Decorative Center you ask? A space containing 40 showrooms bursting at the seams with home furniture and accessories. But what does this particular event include you want to know? Two showrooms, Scott + Cooner and McGannon, designer George Cameron Nash, tons of furniture, lighting, and other home accessories in sample sales and on clearance, and Bloody Marys all around. Get your shop on January 15 through January 16 from 10 am to 5 pm. Decorative Center Dallas. 1617 Hi Line Dr., Ste. 420 and 440 and the sidewalks in front of Scott + Cooner.
Our favorite time of year is here again, the F.I.G. Finale. We suggested it as a stocking stuffer, remember? You know the drill: designer goods, for up to 75 percent off, from all the cute local boutiques. Women’s, men’s, kids’, accessories, shoes, the works. VIP tickets will get you in earlier and supply you with cocktails while you shop. (You know we love a good drink with our shopping.) VIP night is Thursday, January 14 from 6 pm to 9 pm. The ticket goes for $50. Don’t worry, though. The rest of the F.I.G. sale–which is just as fabulous–runs Friday, from 11 am to 8 pm, to Saturday, from 11 am to 5 pm. Ticket prices run as follows: $12 bought in advance online, $15 at the door, or $20 for a two-day pass. Buy them all here. 1807 Ross Ave. (Conveniently directly across from D’s offices, I should add.) Thursday, January 14 to Saturday, January 16.
*Update: FYI: From the marketing coordinator: “Some retailers will be taking credit cards and the front desk will accept cards and cash. We also have an ATM on site, if needed!”

Don’t balk at the fact that you may have to take a thirty-minute trip up 75 to get there. If you are in the market for some of-the-moment affordable costume jewelry, this new shop is worth the trip, we promise! Owner, Vivian Ho has plenty of experience in the business as a wholesaler (her showroom is Kenze Panne at the DMC) and based on a lack she saw in the market, she has ventured into retail with a shop of her own, Panacea. Situated on a corner in Watters Creek shopping center in Allen, the store is stocked (we could have spent hours in there, seriously) to the brim with current trendy (studs, stones, mixed metal, feathers, etc) jewelry and accessories (belts, scarves, headbands, handbags). Most items are under $35, but certainly don’t appear so (see some more photos after the jump). They will celebrate their grand opening with a bash from 3PM-5PM this Saturday. In addition to gathering some great gifts for all of your fashionable friends, get a gift for yourself for attending – gift bags and give-away’s are part of the celebration! See you there. (more…)

DeNovo salon and med spa is hosting a spa event tomorrow, Wednesday, December 2. (Can you believe it’s already December?) Staff members will be handing out 20 percent off cards for all med spa services. (The list of treatments includes Botox, Zerona, Microdermabrasion, photofacials, laser hair removal, etc.) Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with the plastic surgery menu at deNovo, so you can’t take 20 percent off your boob job. But you CAN use the card for hair and skin treatments, too, which include facials, massages, manis and pedis, waxing, and then the usual gamut of hair treatments from cuts and styling to coloring and updos. At the event you’ll be able to grab a drink and a plate of food and sit down with staff plastic surgeons, hair stylists, and aestheticians for free consultations, too. Then enter your name in the raffles for a shot at winning services and products. The event takes place from 5 pm to 8 pm tomorrow. deNovo. 2603 Oak Lawn, Suite 100. 214-219-4100 or www.denovospa.com.

It’s an invite-only event but if you email Victoria Flores at victoria.flores@adrianacarador.com she can most likely get you in.
