  1. I am 53, gray, and loving it…!!!!I can send you some pictures as well. Gray hair does have some issues, such as dryness and sometime’s a mind of its own, but, I wouldn’t trade it. I used to spend a lot of money and energy trying to cover my prized strands of hair, now, I am loving it and I get all kinds of compliments as well…..GO GRAY!

  2. I am considering going “natural” which might be white or gray. Either way not dark brown based on dyeing every 2-3 weeks!
however, i need a transition color or streaking or something while the roots grow out. i will be so psyched to find out from DMagazine, the colorists they find.

  3. @Theonita, Did you use anyone to help you get started, or did you just let it grow out naturally?

  5. Dear 50 Shades of Gray Hair,

We have asked our stylist at Salon Lucien for their expert advice on “saying good bye dye” and “hello silver fox!” Here are a few suggestions-

**The best way to achieve your natural grey locks is–go radical! Choose a pixie cut and let the natural grey grow into your desired style.

**If working with long hair and not willing to cut it short, compromise for a shorter sleek style. We definitely recommend getting blended highlights and lowlights until you get the look that you are achieving and this will ensure the gray hair will blend in nicely with the colored hair as it grows out. This is still a commitment for some time, depending on the length which we are working with. With this route you’ll be looking at appointments between 6-8 weeks. Price for a highlight starts at $125 and prices for a haircut starts at $65.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule a complimentary consultation with one of our hair experts call Salon Lucien at 214.369.2500!

    LATERS BABY!

  6. Why do people think going gray is the only option when giving up hair dye? If you ask most people, given the option, they would like to keep their natural hair color. Rise-N-Shine,LLC has developed a patent pending all natural supplement that changes your gray hair back to it’s natural color at the roots. I can personally say that it works and you can visit http://www.goawaygray.net to research it.
