Ignore the pink tinge in the photo. It’s not the bag – it’s just one of the hazards of iPhone photography. In reality it is a gorgeously perfect cream-colored leather with Louboutin’s signature red lining the inside. The tag says there’s a small spot near the zipper but I didn’t even notice it. (I may have just been too mesmerized by how good it looked on me though.) Clothes Circuit is selling it for $1,225 which might sound like a lot but when you consider that it was probably double that originally, it’s a pretty sweet deal. I’ve found consignment stores to to be great places to find stylish designer handbags at a portion of the retail cost. They’re usually on-trend, in great condition, and often look as if they’ve never been used. And some really haven’t been. That was probably the case with this one. It had an imperfection and most likely couldn’t be sold in a “real” store so it ended up at Clothes Circuit. Good for them! And good for us!
[...] But buying a used one? You’d be living a lie. It’s kind of like financing a used Bentley for 30 years. [...]
I happen to love the resale shops… I have much better taste than my budget allows and I certainly would buy a “vintage” bag (used) any day of the week if I loved it.
Resale has certainly helped those of us with an eye for a good item and i live by them. Recently I was on a Magazine cover in a Red Rose Taft Couture dress…. i have had about 10 people email me to say “where did you get it?” and several asking to borrow it… I said yes to all…
Is wearing an “uplift bra” living a lie. ? is getting anything on sale …living a lie… I am just saying.. if you didn’t pay the Louboutin price for it.. is it any different than getting it at a resale shop.? Now don’t everyone get crazy and attack…it’s just a comment.
well, @yvonne above.. i forgot to mention that I got it at the ReSale Shop…. sorry about that… sorta takes the wind out of my argument if I am so scatterbrained that I forgot the “reson” for posting in the first place… about Resale Shops.
Hey Kristen! You can hone your iphone photography skills on Friday at sun to moon’s workshop! http://loweroaklawn.com/events/iphone-photography-workshop/
Yvonne, I’m with ya. I don’t think buying resale means you’re living a lie. I appreciate the price tag on a major designer piece. It’s part of its magic. But more than that, “designer” is about superior craftsmanship and excellent design. Anyone who truly appreciates the quality and creativity behind a designer dress, bag, pair of shoes, whatever, deserves to own one at some point. But @Merritt (http://www.parkcitiespeople.com/2010/06/28/the-louboutin-lie/) totally get the “gross” factor. Nothing a little cleaning can’t fix, though.
