My pink iPod mini circa 2005 just doesn’t hold juice like it used to. So when it died this morning before I burned a single calorie, I may not have been shocked, but I was still saddened. I almost bailed on the workout altogether, but then I remembered that there was life before the iPod—and I lived it. In fact, I remember power walking with a Sony Discman, for goodness’ sake! Remember those? Pearl Jam never sounded so sweet. But that’s not the point. The point is I finished the workout with no music blaring in my ears. And it was miserable! The minutes creeped by. So what should I do? Buy one of these? Get over it? Bring back the Discman in case of emergency? Talkers, what do you think? Is it time to ditch the mini?
it is possible to change your ipod mini battery - this page has a video showing how to do it:

hey - if it don’t work out, you can always get the new ipod nano!
I run and I love my music, I rememmber the days of the yellow sony arm band that just let me jam to the radio. Interestingly enough I had a pink mini just like yours for 2 years and then I got it just slightly wet, I took it to apple and expected miracles and when they said it would be expensive but offered 10% off a new one if I turned in the old one, I refused, I loved that mini…. My husband bought me a nano a few months later that was in 2007, a few weeks ago I chunked the mini into the trash and wished I had just gotten the 10 % off. Get a nano, it’s worth every penny to keep you moving and who can stand that workout feeling like it lasts a lifetime. Just do it!
oh and if you decide to take it a part, i tried it did nothing, fyi they will still take it a nd give you the discount no matter how destroyed it looks, I asked them that!
I say go for the Nano. I usually work out in the gym at my condo complex and watch TV while I run, but after being subjected to other people’s TV choices for too long I am wishing I had one. I have an iPod video and those are just too bulky for a workout, even resting on the treadmill. Go for it. I’ll live vicariously through you and your tunes!
All right, I’m sold. I’ll get a nano. They have purple ones now, anyway! But dang, I’ll miss that mini…
