This was my favorite costume of the weekend. This handmade 50s-style dress was assembled from comic book pages. A face-painted “Pow” and “Kaboom” headband completed the look. Clever, no?

Weekend Style Standout: Leather Shorts

I love this look. The tiny leather shorts paired with a sleeved sheer blouse and black pumps is a delightful combination. LC inspired, perhaps?

Weekend Style Standout: Uggs and Louis Vuitton

I understand why ladies love their Uggs. I do. I have a pair. But if you’re going to spend a significant amount of time in the public eye, do not match them with an enormous Louis Vuitton bag, button-side shorts, and a hoodie. Have we learned nothing from Britney Spears?

Weekend Style Standout: Safari Hat

At first I laughed. Then I reconsidered. It wasn’t actually a bad look. This guy pulled off a safari hat fashionably. Pardon the terrible photography. I spotted him through a window at the Urban Taco opening party on McKinney.

Anyone else seen a safari hat outside of the jungle recently?
