The girls knocking each other down in school girl uniforms with sequined bloomers and black lipstick is worth it alone, but it’s also a much needed break from the weekend dress-up scene. You wear jeans and BYOB. It’s great. The pic, left, depicts a team of derby gals–the Deadly Kennedys, to be exact–in pre-game allegiance stance.

I was in Pittsburgh this weekend for a wedding. The bride, who discovered the hard way that a gown shouldn’t be altered sans the shoes, needed to find flats in a hurry. Apparently, finding bridal shoes without height is no piece of wedding cake. She found these rhinestoned jelly peep-toes just in time. I happen to adore them (and the creativity behind them). Aren’t they a bit glass slipper-esque?
