Want a Pair of Fibi & Clo Sandals? Get Your Hands on a Pair Monday.

Remember when we told you all about fibi & clo sandals that just made their way to Big D? Well, the only con is that they’re sold party style or online. But that’s also a pro. Having the blinged-out sandals sold this way allows the owners to keep the prices down near wholesale level. (That’s $45 for flats and $60 for wedges.) Great news, though. You can check them out in person this Monday, April 30 at The Mason Bar, where all specialty cocktails are half-priced for the night. (There will also be a fibi & clo spring cocktail served punchbowl style and snacks.) Head in from 6 pm to 9 pm to bedazzle your feet.

Scott James joins hands with The Make-A-Wish Foundation for its trunk show tonight at Original Octane. Check out the line’s spring/summer collection and should you decide to make a purchase (the Arden seersucker suit in gray, perhaps, or a pair of five-pocket pants in lime?), or, if you make a $10 donation to Make-A-Wish, you’ll be entered into a giveaway for a weekend getaway wardrobe selected by Scott James Kuhlman, the brand’s designer. Tonight, April 25 at Original Octane from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Update: There will be margaritas and light bites. Now you’re going for sure, right?

First Look at Nha Khanh’s Fall 2012 RTW Collection at Stanley Korshak

This weekend you can catch a preview of Nha Khanh’s sure-to-be-fabulous fall 2012 RTW collection for the first time at Stanley Korshak. Like what you see? Pre-ordering is available. We’re already in love with the spring line (particularly the silk bib and wool pencil skirt above), which you can shop immediately. Head in on Saturday, from 11 am to 5 pm, because designer Khanh Nguyen (who stopped by our Tootsies event last night–thank you!) will be in the store, with her precious baby bump, helping customers pick seasonal pieces. Drinks and light bites will be served. I’ve been a fan of Khanh’s work since I saw her first collection. Her aesthetic is architectural, modern, unique, slightly edgy, and totally wearable. They’re the kind of pieces that will become staples in your closet but always turn heads when you’re out wearing them. And, she’s local. So there. See you tomorrow. But first, a nap after discussing DIFFA on WFAA with Ron Corning this morning at 6:30 am…

Very Happy Hours: Ashley Burghardt Handbags, Bettinis Bikinis, and Cocktails at Krimson & Klover

Krimson & Klover on Cole Avenue has been passed from the hands of former owner Ariana Peña those of adorable new owners, Emily Hayes and Lindsey Harrison, who are revamping the boutique with interior tweaks, a fresh paint job to the sweet cottage, and some new lines (with slightly lower price points). I’m looking forward to the changes (though, you will be missed, Ariana!), and tomorrow’s Ashley Burghardt trunk show. Pick up a new clutch and meet the designer from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. If your Wednesday is booked, perhaps you can make Krimson & Klover’s swimwear trunk show TONIGHT, from 7 pm to 9 pm. Meet Cali swimwear designer, Bettina Bell, peruse the teeny weeny bikinis (or cover-up) from Cali line, Bettinis,and grab a Nectar Girl margarita and light bites from My Fit Foods. (No guilt!) Ice Your Wrist, Safari Style

It was love at first sight when I set eyes on Michael Kors’ new gold and tortoise print watch for spring. I don’t do animal print, but I dig Kors’ chic safari look, and it’s been condensed into one beautiful watch. (See right.) Then, this morning, I see that Tootsies is hosting a Michael Kors spring 2012 watch and jewelry trunk show this Wednesday, February 29. It absolute kismet! Okay. That’s it. I must have it. I’ll also take the silver snake chain necklace with a faux-horn charm. And the gold ring with slice of turquoise. And the braided leather cuff…

Clothes Encounters’ Chic, Modern Pop-Up Shop Opens Tomorrow

Three times a year Joanne Levy and Melanie Fogel of Clothes Encounters open an uber chic pop-up shop inside Joanne’s mod home on 4444 Abbott Avenue. It operates for only three days at a time and delivers a bespoke experience that allows shoppers to browse full collections from hard-t0-find brands, choose their favorite pieces, and order them in different colors. (Trunk show style.) Five years and thriving (long before pop-ups were trendy), Clothes Encounters sticks to a modernist aesthetic so expect structured garments in solid colors, drapey details, scultupural accessories in earthy colors, and a splash of local talent. (We hear Elizabeth Anyaa scarves have previously been on the menu.) Designers may reappear throughout the year, but mostly, the lines rotate each time, so don’t most miss the opportunity to discover a new spring staple no one else will have. Talk about a chic shopping experience.  Best part is, it feels exclusive, but you’re so invited. Starts tomorrow.

Exquisite Erickson Beamon Jewelry and Cocktails at Swag Tomorrow Night

Head to Swag at NorthPark tomorrow night to check out the architectural pieces that make up the Erickson Beamon line and then grab a cocktail and a bite or two before shopping the latest collection of jewels and Abi Ferrin’s latest designs. If you can’t make it to Thursdays cocktail reception from 6 pm to 9 pm, don’t fret. The trunk show continues on Friday from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Why you should go: I love the gaudy antique look of these chunky pieces. Pair it with too much glitz and you’ll look over-the-top Dallas (not in a good way), but make these the star of the show against a basic ensemble, and you’ve got a statement look.

*Update: Monique Erickson will be in the store greeting shoppers. Although she is not the designer, she is brand manager and can help you pick out the perfect piece of jewelry.

Fun Things Happening at The Gypsy Wagon this Weekend

We can’t get enough of the Wagon these days, if you can’t tell. Saturday’s upcoming events are just another reason why. Richard Schmidt, who handcrafts chunky silver jewelry is having a trunk show. Check out his wares online. They’re awesome. Another Handmade Market is taking place, too. The last one included framed artwork and funky jewelry. Four new artists will be set up outside the shop this weekend. Lastly, The Feather Junkie, who creates a lot of the feathers you’re seeing in people’s ‘dos around town, will be at Gypsy Wagon, adding a little color to your locks if you’re so inclined.
