Get Glowing: $19 Airbrush Tans at Facelogic This Weekend

Just a few moments ago in the elevator I was complimenting a coworker on her golden gams. I assumed she was returning from a vacation, but no, her enviable tan was airbrushed on. It reminded me I was told I look like a vampire over the weekend. Time to get my spray on, too. Coincidentally, as I got back to my desk and my inbox, I found a blast from Highland Park’s Facelogic, who is offering a $19 airbrush tans this weekend. (I should remind you they gave me one of my favorite ever faux glows.) If you, too, need a quick spritz, book now.

I’m a fan of sunscreen, floppy hats to protect your face, and a really, really good airbrush tan. Like the one performed by Jacy Rader, co-owner of Bronze & Beautiful mobile airbrush tan service. Not only does she come and set up in the comfort of your own home (no standing around naked on a cold salon floor under fluorescent lighting), but she customizes a shade to fit your skin tone and leaves you with instructions on how to maintain your new faux glow.

Today, we’ve got one airbrush tan to give away along with the new, paraben-free Norvell maintenance kit, which includes an exfoliating body scrub, body wash, Pro Long Tan Extender, Self Tanning Spray Tan Can, and exfoliating mitt.

Three Golden Days of Airbrush Tan Deals at Facelogic

a South Seas tanFacelogic gave me one of my favorite airbrush tans I’ve had so far. I was exotically dark (but friends told me it looked natural) and I faded evenly (no Michael Jackson splotches). Of course the skill of the airbrusher is a critical factor in the outcome of your tan, but it helps that the South Seas Skincare formula is paraben free and fairly neutral smelling. This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (that’s June 21-23), you have three ways to save on this airbrush tan at the spa.

1. Purchase an airbrush tan package of 4 for $99 and you’ll get one free. Five expert airbrush tans for $99 is a steal. (And, you can buy as many packages as you want.)
2. Get a two-for-one deal by bringing a buddy. Bring in your pale friends for their first tan and you’ll both score an airbrush session for $40. (That’s $20 a piece!)
3. Get a discounted one-time tan for $30. (That’s $10 off.)

Book These Treatments Now: Natura Bissé Facial at Ritz-Carlton and Tan and Teeth Whitening at Facelogic

I’m not going to pretend life is hard as an editor  forced to review to facials and airbrush tans for the job, but I’ve been through my fair share of mediocre treatments and tan jobs ala Oompa-Loompa. But I love risking my body for the price of potential orange streaks so that I can tell you, dear readers, which treatments to try and which treatments aren’t worth the dough. Three services you must enjoy: Natura Bissé Aroma Awakening facial at The Spa at the Ritz-Carlton and the airbrush tan and Da Vinci one-hour teeth whitening at Facelogic.

Cover Clothing’s SPF Apparel Blocks the Sun and Looks Chic

Well, apparently it’s national Grilled Cheese Day, so we should all give up, grab a sammie, and go home for the day. But first, stop at Neiman Marcus and check out this line of SPF clothing. Here’s why: spring has sprung, the sun is shining (albeit not today), and melanoma is on the rise. According to the most recent skin care study from The Mayo Clinic, from 1970 to 2009, the incidence of melanoma in young women has increased eight times. Eight. Times. Don’t go patting yourself on the back for slapping on a daily dose of moisturizer with SPF either; your body is still unprotected. That’s why Dallas gals Lisa Moore and Robyn Stevens, founders of Cover Sun Conscious Clothing, created a line of quick-dry, wrinkle free, apparel with UPF 50+ protection. (We told you we loved them in 2009, remember?) Well, they’ve just been picked up by Neiman Marcus so they’re more accessible than ever. Plus, starting in May, $10 from each purchase of the long sleeve white tee will benefit the American Cancer Society. Every women needs a clean, long sleeve white tee–just ask Diane Keaton–and you’ll find it at Neiman Marcus, Five & Ten, and online.

photography courtesy of salassunless.com

Remember when we told you about our beautiful, golden glow from Salas Sunless in Colleyville? (We even gave them best sunless tan in Dallas in 2010.) We whined about our long drive, but loved every day of our just-right tan. Now we can enjoy one of these spray-and-gos more often. Salas Sunless is now open for business here in Dallas. (Find them across from the Plaza at Preston Center, off Preston.) The formulas here are organic and be customized to your skin tone. I’ll admit that aside from location, price was other complaint, but that’s no longer a problem either. Cost per tan has been dropped to $45 a pop!

Get Your Bottom Bronzed in Your Own Home

Kristin peeks over the tent in my teeny tiny (messy) kitchen.

That’s what Kristin and I did on Monday. Jacy, co-owner of Bronze & Beautiful mobile airbrush tanning company, came over to give us a glow while we drank champagne (and I munched on Whole Foods’ mock chicken salad–obsessed). It was the easiest thing in the world . We took turns stripping down and stepping into the tanning tent that Jacy set up in the kitchen. The formula comes in a green/blue tone so orange is out of the question. Each tan is customized to your skin tone, so you can ask for a just-got-back-from-a-pool-side-brunch-in-LA look or a don’t-be-jealous-that-I-spent-a-week-in-the-Bahamas look. You’ll see it right away, but let it do its thing over night, and you’ll wake up with an even richer tan. Shall we move onto the price? $50. Yep. That’s all. If you live across the world (talking to you, Plano, McKinney, etc.), the price jumps up to $75, but add a couple extra people looking to do some pale body control, and you’ll get discounts for each additional glow-in-the-dark hiney. Sent the ladies a note at info@bronzeandbeautifultan.com or call 817-880-4383 to set something up.
