An “Aperitivo” of Bites, Bellinis, and Bikinis

Italian food, an amazing bar, and bikinis, oh boy. That’s what you’ll get at Nicola’s Ristorante on Thursday. (Oh yeah, and a DJ.) We’ll let the models from St. Bernard Sports take the bikinis. Pass the Italian food, please. This “Aperitivo,” or pre-dinner drink-fest, if you will, is basically just a better version of happy hour. Complimentary appetizers will be served, a DJ will spin some beats, and serious drink specials—like $5 Bellinis and Italian margaritas and $4 well drinks—will be offered. “But this is a fashion blog,” you cry! “Why are you telling us about this?!” Well, my friends, because I love you and want you to enjoy a cheap Bellini. But, also, because the swimsuits from St. Bernard Sports will be for sale two doors down. Nothing like seeing a model in a swimsuit before you put it on, right? But maybe the margaritas will blur your vision in the mirror. Either way, we like the swimwear from St. Bernard Sports, and here’s a fun way to view it. Even better? This “Aperitivo” will happen every Thursday, every week from 4 pm to 7 pm. Salute! (I think that’s Italian for “cheers!” but don’t get it tattooed just yet.) Nicola’s, Plano.

Wilhelmina Hot Body Model Search

If you’re a man or woman 18 and up with a hot bod who lives a “healthy and fit lifestyle,” then they might be looking for you. Wilhelmina will be at the Plano Gold’s Gym on Saturday from 10 am-3 pm as part of its nationwide Hot Body Model Search. It’s an open casting call, so everyone is welcome. Our Favorite Pastime: Drinking and Shopping. This Time: Plaza Style

A chance to walk around, perusing the latest fall trends, with a glass of champagne (or in this case maybe a BachenTini created by Bachendorf’s) in hand? Not for the world. But The Plaza at Preston Center one-ups our fav hobby this year with hors d’oeuvres. Brynn Isom Starts Get Real Agency, A Modeling Agency for “Real People”

You may know Brynn Isom. The designer and all-around Renaissance woman was once a finalist for our 10 Most Beautiful Women in Dallas. It comes as no surprise to us that she and her sister have launched yet another venture: Get Real Agency. So you’ re not a model or an actor. No problem. Ad agencies and photographers often need everyday people for TV commericals, photo shoots, market research, or print ads. Also, companies sometimes need to fill a room for a big event. So how do you sign up? Easy. Just go to the Get Real Agency web site and upload a current photo. They need people of all shapes, sizes, ages, ethnicities, and gender. What’s the harm? You might earn some extra cash!
