I’ve always been a fan of Dallas aesthetician Renée Rouleau’s products. They work. Simple as that.
If you’re not digging your current product lineup, now’s the time to try something new. How about something from Renée Rouleau? Go through your cabinet and grab all the non-Renée Rouleau stuff you’re not into and bring it into the spa through Saturday, April 6, and you’ll get 15 percent off a related RR product. For example, if you’re swapping out a cleanser, you’ll get a discounted cleanser. Lotions and potions can be empty, brand new, or anything in between, but if you bring in something that’s gently used, it’ll be donated to The Family Place for women affected by domestic violence.
The spas have two locations: Plano and Dallas, which although is usually by-appointment only, will be open Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 am to 5 pm for this special occasion.
Sample This boutique has officially been in Mockingbird Station for two years, but do you even know what it is? The warehouse-style shop on the end of the lane, neighboring Victoria’s Secret, houses racks of sample size clothing (sizes 2-8). You might have to do a little digging, but there are real gems scattered through. Occasionally, you’ll stumble upon items with no tags, but the payoff is the super marked down price tags. I inquired about the tagless nature of some of the items, and here’s the deal, according to owner Allyson Cooke:
We buy all of the pieces in Los Angeles from designers who are wanting to get rid of their samples from the past season. We are able to buy them at very discounted prices because they are not production sizes, meaning they are no particular size just a sample made for the models. That is why everything is one of a kind, meaning we only have one to sell. Also there is no size tag in the clothing so our customers just have to try it on. Some of the designers do cut out their labels because we are selling the merchandise at wholesale prices and the actual production from these designers is double or more from what we are charging.
So there you have it. Now, a little look inside:
Forty Five Ten’s much anticipated sale is coming to an end, but you have until 3 pm today to score some seriously luxe designer goods, slashed in price by 75 percent. Joslyn made like a bandit and walked away with an armful of goodies, including Celine boots and a Victoria Beckham dress. Make going to the T Room for lunch your excuse and just happen to wander into the store to peruse the sale rack. You won’t be sorry.
The collection of designer gifts tanked. New York Magazine says it’s because some prices were still too steep. Time reports the collection was “out of touch.” Either way, there’s a silver lining. If you do happen to like the goods–I mentioned the Derek Lam skateboard in October–what’s left is discounted. Big time. For example, my beloved board is now $30 (down from $100). So, peruse and shop if you’re interested. Here and here. I still dig that Proenza Schouler sweatshirt… Especially for $8.99.
If you’re not so full of stuffing that you can handle zipping up your boots and heading out into the world on Friday, shopping intern Margaux Anbouba has rounded up a few hot Black Friday sales that you won’t want to miss. Some of my absolute favorite boutiques are knocking the prices down on everything in the store for the day. Check it out.

If you head to Hemline tomorrow, you will experience something amazing. Like 30 percent off everything in the store. Seriously. That’s what they’re saying. That means you can grab holiday party dresses for you and jewelry as gifts for friends and not feel an ounce of shame about shopping for clothing instead of groceries for Thanksgiving. We’re in.
Rory Ashton’s much adored cluster earrings are now available in a slew of new colors in her fall “Navajo” collection. Solid yellow, cobalt blue, see-through pink, and opaque gray are just a few new color options along with the debut line of “Lighthouse” hoops adorned with neon howlite chunks. Head to Flirt Boutique for the jewels’ official launch party. If bright gems aren’t your thing, there are still plenty of reasons to attend. Like, wine, cheese, cupcakes, Flirtinis, and 15 percent off the store’s merchandise.

Breaking News: Banana Republic in West Village is hosting a happy hour tonight. From 6 pm to 9 pm, you can drink free wine from neighboring Cork wine bar, eat light bites from next door’s Grimaldi’s and Malai restaurants, and take 25 percent off your purchase on $100 on more. That’s a sweet gig. If I haven’t been waiting a year to eat dinner at Lucia’s, I would ditch dinner tonight to be there for a little vino and these Sloan fit pants in cinnamon and these easy, lace-up ankle booties.

It’s was a Dallas hipster’s* paradise yesterday. The line was out the door at 2 pm. The wait for the dressing room was over an hour. But the deals were killer, and they’re not over yet. Although yesterday marked the exclusive preview of the big seasonal sale, everyone’s invited to LF today to take advantage of the storewide 60 percent off. That’s right. The merch on every rack, every shelf, every nook and cranny and jewelry stand is more than half-off. Find cutoff shorts in every color of the rainbow, an abundance of studded things (shoes, shorts, jackets, clutches, etc), pastel cutout dresses, floral print, and ombre everything. It was entertaining (if slightly annoying) listening to SMU 20-somethings babble on about rush and getting Mom on the phone to find out the spending limit, but a pair of black waxed jeans (from $200 to $80), a sheer, skull-print high-low top in mellow yellow (from $148 to $60), and a little lilac number with chain straps (from $124 to $50) was worth the earful. Sale runs through Sunday.
*Hipster vs. Dallas hipster: A Dallas hipster buys vintage-inspired clothing versus used garments (e.g. $200 cutoff shorts rather than homemade).
That’s what the girls at V.O.D. are calling their one-day progressive sale on Isabel Marant, Vanessa Burno, Jerome Dreyfuss, and more. Shop from 11 am to 2 pm for 50 percent off; 2 pm to 4 pm for 60 percent off, and 4 pm to 6 pm for 70 percent off. It’s not really a sale, it seems; more like an invite to burglarize the clearance section. And we’re in for a little designer thievery. See you tomorrow.

(clockwise from left) Nina Ricci violet print pouchette for $577.50 (originally $1,650); Brunello Cucinelli scrunch wool gauze front flat sandal for $325.50 (originally $930); Fendi chunky criss cross sandal for $243.25 (originally $695)
In a big way. Spring and summer wear at Stanley Korshak is marked down for the season. Find couture and designer sportswear at 65-75 percent off; men’s clothing, sportswear, shoes, home furnishings, and gifts for 65 percent off; women’s shoes handbags and accessories at The Shak for 50-65 percent off; and jewelry for 30-50 percent off.
The beautiful thing about Dallas summer sales is that we still have a few months of hellish heat left, so we can actually make use of spring/summer sale goods rather than saving them for next year. Get shopping.

I love the enormous annual sales put on by local designer shops. All those pieces you feel guilty buying all year suddenly become must-haves with their slashed prices. (I love kicking my frenemy–I call her Guiltsy–to the curb every now and then.) Tootsies biggest sale ever has arrived. (I told you two weeks ago that it was huge; now it’s colossal.) A selection of designer wear, cocktail dresses, contemporary clothing, shoes, and accessories are marked down 70 percent off. Yes, 70. A whopping 7-0 percent. Starts this Friday; ends Saturday, July 28.
There’s a big sale at Tootsies right now. Like, really big. Nearly every shoe in the shop is discounted and racks of spring and summer threads are marked as low as 50 percent off. You’ll find Elizabeth & James blouses, a cream Rachel Zoe suit (gorgeous), blazers in colors, prints, and soft fabrics, summer hued denim, sexy army-colored shorts, and shoes. Lots of shoes. Like the Pour la Victoire pumps in pastel mauve for $179 (originally $250). Who’s ready to blow off eating lunch to go shopping instead?
Facelogic gave me one of my favorite airbrush tans I’ve had so far. I was exotically dark (but friends told me it looked natural) and I faded evenly (no Michael Jackson splotches). Of course the skill of the airbrusher is a critical factor in the outcome of your tan, but it helps that the South Seas Skincare formula is paraben free and fairly neutral smelling. This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (that’s June 21-23), you have three ways to save on this airbrush tan at the spa.
1. Purchase an airbrush tan package of 4 for $99 and you’ll get one free. Five expert airbrush tans for $99 is a steal. (And, you can buy as many packages as you want.)
2. Get a two-for-one deal by bringing a buddy. Bring in your pale friends for their first tan and you’ll both score an airbrush session for $40. (That’s $20 a piece!)
3. Get a discounted one-time tan for $30. (That’s $10 off.)
