Head to Quaker “2″ Warehouse right now (before 1 pm, when it all ends), and find a major garage sale taking place. Goodies include home furnishings and accessories for anywhere from $10 into the low hundreds. Hot off the press:

Tons of woven furniture (incl couches, love seats, stools, tables), Thomas Paul Pillows, assorted custom pillows, black ghost chairs, blue velvet chairs and ottomans, vases, garden stools, antique french marble topped tables, black modern serpentine couch from Scott + Cooner, etc. The prices are as low as 10 bucks and goes to the low hundreds.

Update: The shop will be “just around the corner” from the apparel shop. Apparently, the small selection of Calypso St. Barth home items carried in the clothing store sold out so often they decided to open a new shop devoted solely to nesting. The store will carry “the exclusive line of Maison de Vacances bedding, Heidi Merrick textiles, custom upholstered furniture and signature poufs and rugs.” Sounds like a party to us.

Buy Some Stuff at Wisteria and Save Some Stuff

“Buy More! Save More!” This is exactly the kind of marketing ploy I love falling for. I’ll absolutely spend more if you tell me I will save more! Duh. Shopping at Wisteria this month is well worth falling for this trick, though. (By the way, did you even know that the beloved home accessories store has moved even closer to us here in Dallas?) Now, you can look online to get excited about the things you want to buy in the shop, but just know, the warehouse store houses even MORE items than the catalogue contains. How’s that for incentive? Now grab your hubby’s truck, empty it us his junk, and prepare it for lovely lamps, funky furniture, and gorgeous gardening accessories. You’ll get anywhere from 15 percent to 30 percent off, depending on what you spend, and when you’re talking about spending a good chunk of change on furniture, these discounts will make a dent in the total. ART is ART on Henderson is a New Favorite Store

I want this painting.

Well, it’s not new. But new to me. If you, like I do, often make your way down Henderson and continually neglect this art shop, STOP. You’re making a mistake. It’s not full of stuffy, unaffordable art. It’s packed with local artists’ colorful, modern paintings (at decent prices), locally crafted jewelry (not crocheted hats, but really cool necklaces, cuffs, etc.), and vintage stuff, like patent ladylike handbags and decorative ashtrays.

Secret Cove of Fashion Finds at Vinya

I would never have guessed that furniture shop Vinya (winner of the Best of Big D vintage/consignment furniture store category) was packing some serious designer bags. Near the register sits a display case full of barely-used–some even never-used–handbags from fashion houses like Kate Spade, Judith Lieber, Gucci, Dior, etc. These lovely ladies–donated from the local collection of a serious purse-addict–sell for about half the retail price. (About $300 to $600 is a good guesstimate on average price.)

The Isabella Design Studio (though you may know it as IbC) is expanding their shop/studio on Greenville. To make room for all the new bedding that will be part of the store’s expansion celebration, owner Kathy (who should be a part-time super model) is selling everything off at great rates. Lula B’s Celebrates Its Relocation

The grand opening party starts tonight at 5:30 pm. Lula B’s is self-labeled as “cool stuff for cool people.” We dig that description. And there’s never a better way to check that out for ourselves than at an opening party with cocktails, music, and snacks, right? Come here to find all kinds of tchotchkes. Looking for Western wear? This is a hot spot for finding inexpensive, used cowgirl boots and pearl-snap button-ups. If you’re a knick-knack collector, this paradise packs in the collectibles, retro dinnerware, vintage music, movies, and books, and an eclectic mix of jewelry and art. Decorator types will find plenty of house wares, too, with the furniture, lighting, and accessory collections. We’ll see you there, drink in hand, grooving down the aisles, looking for funky odds and ends. Tonight from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm at 2639 Main St. at Good Latimer.

The Handmade Bash Reviewed: Ferrochie Studio

I couldn’t take my eyes off these pretty hanging things at the Handmade Bash. When I found out more about them from designer David Patton, who was manning his booth, I was even more fascinated. Fun fact: Ferrochie is pronounced “fair-oh-key.” (Reminds me of pierogi. Love those things.) Patton builds furniture, lighting, and home decor pieces with a dark European vibe. The ones I couldn’t get enough of were Patton’s door chimes, featured left, which he calls “Oberon’s Gateway.” Inspired by the story of the legendary king of fairies (yes, Oberon from A Midsummer Night’s Dream), they’re made with real, vintage European garden keys. There is something so alluring and mysterious about an old key. And bunches of them, well, it just increases the fun.

This is an all-around shopping blog in case we’ve all forgotten. That means, we will include home and garden-ish sales when we can. So here’s a good one: Sunnyland, an outdoor furniture superstore, is having a 20/20 sale on April 20, when every piece of furniture will be on sale for 20 percent off and delivery will be available for $20. (Get it? April 20, 20 percent off, $20 deliveries? You know… 20/20.) You have to bring in this flyer, though, to take advantage of the celebration. The one-day sale is happening only on Tuesday, April 20, but lasts all day. Who else has started spring cleaning? I began in my closet last night, and I have one preliminary bag of clothes that will either make it to my sisters in Houston or, of course, Good Will.
