Aesthetic Elegance, Abi Ferrin and Jeremy from The Bachelorette Whoop It Up at Bella

Last night I attended the Aesthetic Elegance party at Bella. This med spa offers all kinds of face and body-enhancing procedures under the supervision of Dr. Maryann Prewitt. They were promoting a new Botox-alternative, Dysport, that claims to show results in 1-2 days (as opposed to Botox which they said takes 8-10 days) and it apparently lasts longer too. We watched a brave volunteer get it injected into her forehead. For about 30 minutes after the “shots” it looked like she had four big mosquito bites but once they “soaked in” there were no signs of trauma to the skin. I have to admit I’m tempted… We’ll see if my vanity wins out over my nerves. It’s a tight race, for sure. Abi Ferrin was also on hand (on the left in the photo, in her own dress) with a rack full of her gorgeous summer collection of sexy, versatile, beautifully-colored pieces. (I’m wearing her awesome 5-way shirt in the photo and the two models are wearing her dresses.) Check out Abi’s goods at her upcoming Freedom Friday party on Friday and Saturday, June 26 and 27 from 10am-6pm at her studio (1509 South Lamar, #103). She’ll have exclusive styles and specials as well ask tasty cocktails, and 10% of sales will be donated to a cause close to her heart, The Freedom Project. And one last note, scoping out the party scene, I noticed Jeremy Anderson, formerly of The Bachelorette, chatting it up with the other guests. He looked cute as ever in his conservative black pants and blue shirt so I was surprised to see him carrying a motorcycle helmet when he left. Looks like he’s got a wild side…

Hester Coming to V.O.D.

Designing duo and former Men’s Vogue editors, Mauricio Quezada and Tasha Green of Hester will be on a road-trip from New York to L.A., hitting up key cities (of course Dallas is on the list) and select boutiques (of course V.O.D. is one of them) to host trunk shows and introduce their much talked about body-hugging designs to customers. Mark your calendars now for Saturday, June 20th and look forward to shopping the spring line, meeting the designers, and placing special orders for the fall 2009 collection at V.O.D. They describe it as “mini-treatments at mini-prices to be accompanied by complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.” Kristin and I went to the last one, and we call it fabulous. It’s the perfect, girly way to unwind after a long day–or even a short day. If it’s like the last one, there will be nonstop cocktails, delicious snacks, and talented spa staff to provide amazing mini spa sessions, like the Sole Revival Food Treatment, Wild Lime Botanical Scalp Massage, and Mini-Massage. Barefoot at the Belmont Sched Update

You remember this? Yes. Good. Well, here’s the April update straight from crackerjack intern Kellyn Curtis.

Thursday nights just got a little happier. Locals are flocking to Oak Cliff’s hilltop oasis BarBelmont to enjoy live music and delicious cocktails. Nestled in the swanky Belmont Hotel, the hotspot just announced a stellar live music lineup and happy hour specials for April. Every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., beer and wine by the glass are $1 off. (Well drinks are $1 off all night). Live music starts at 6:30, but you might want to get there early to snag a good seat. Great music, cheap drinks, and a gorgeous view of the Dallas skyline—I couldn’t think of a better way to relax after a long day at the office. Wednesdays and Thursdays through April and May hit up the patio at Bolla (at the Stoneleigh Hotel) for drink specials and complimentary treats from the restaurant’s new spring menu. I went last week (or was it two weeks ago?), and it was fantastic—great location (perfect for people-watching the folks at the Stoneleigh P) and chic scene without the fuss (annoyance?) of Uptown riffraff. Also there was lots of bubbly, which may or may not have contributed to my glowing review. Happy hour is from 5:30 to 7:30. Bring your credit card.

Hookers Delight Martini Glasses

Our friend Jamie received some information on these unusual martini glasses and immediately thought of me–though she refused to elaborate why. But whatever. So what’s the story on these things? They’re martini glasses that come equipped with a gold-plated hook and chain to slay olives. This is how the Charles and Marie press release describes them: “Completely unnecessary, yet amazingly beautiful and lovely.” Too bad the name of the glass is so unfortunate, but if you are of the mindset that nothing says wedding reception like “hookers delight,” you better start cutting some guests. You’re limited to 80 pieces.
