While shopping at Accents the other night, we stumbled across this beautiful Ashard Richley nude ruffle bag left. (And it probably did look like stumbling because we just came out of a spin class.) We love nude, and we love ruffles, but we also love that this bag looks it could belong on Valentino’s spring 2010 catwalk above. It also looks like Eva Longoria’s beloved Be & D bag from last spring—see it after the jump. Mostly, we love that it’s $78 and can only be purchased at Accents. (more…)
Here’s what you need to know. Sale items at Sussie’s—everything is 50% off—include Rebecca Taylor, Trina Turk, Cynthia Vincent, Vince, Milly, Ella Moss, Michael Stars, Twill 22, Twisted Heart, Donna Degnan, Fifteen/Twenty, and many more. The store is open from 9 am-6 pm, and early birds (9 am-noon) get an additional 10% off. And get this—the store is open on Sunday, too, from noon-5 pm. That never happens. IJS. Oh lucky day.
In case you didn’t notice our Sale of the Week, here’s some news you can use: the semi-annual sale Sussie’s began today. You can save 50% on some of my very favorite designers, including Trina Turk, Milly, Ella Moss, Michael Stars, and Nanette Lapore. While you’re in there, check out the seriously cool shoe selection at Pumps. Both of these places are D Beauty Award winners, BTW. Get to Frisco before all the goods are gone! And be sure and tell Rory we sent you.
You’re probably working today. I know. So are we. But I highly recommend taking a long lunch and going to Fitness Fridays at Lucy. Why? So many good reasons, really. Certified yoga therapist Melisa Ambers–who was featured in the spring issue of D Beauty–is teaching free yoga classes. 2008 D Beauty Award winner Hail Merry’s Susan O’Brien is bringing her totally awesome raw snacks. Plus: complimentary chair massages from Red Door Spa and coupons for free stuff from Aveda NorthPark. We’re so in.

I just got word from Court Wescott over at Polished that Stiletto is their choice for the new season’s polish name. Oh, and they’re going to name a color D Beauty, after us. Aw. So congrats to ShopTalker Kate Young, who submitted the winning entry. She gets a free mani at the 2009 D Beauty Award Winner.
Because I’m on the Mother’s Day beat, I wanted to share with you dear ShopTalkers another mom-friendly spa deal. At Corinthian Wellness Spa in Southlake (a 2009 D Beauty Award winner), you can treat your mama to high tea (for a $25 add-on) then pamper her with one of four special Mother’s Day packages. The Relax Mom package ($120) includes a foot soak, a Beauty Blitz Facial, and a Mini Zen massage. The Restore Mom package ($150) includes a foot soak, a Collagen Facial, and a Peppermint Scalp Massage. The Rejuvenate Mom package ($153) includes a foot soak, a Dragonfly Dreams Massage, and Harmony Restore Reflexology. And the Queen for a Day package ($228) includes a foot soak, a Corinthian Custom Massage, and a Corinthian Organic Facial. Although Queen for a Day does sound nice, I recommend the Restore Mom deal. I’ve had that Collagen Facial, and it is awesome. And, at $150, the package is smartly priced.
You may know that Renee Rouleau (a 2008 D Beauty Award winner) recently celebrated one year at One Arts Plaza, where she has an exlusive (and tiny!) spa. Check out this party pic from the event. When you’re done drooling over these cute boys, take note of Renee’s beautiful complexion–proof positive that this beauty expert knows her stuff. I think I would like t-shirts that read “I Heart Jennifer Chininis”—and the boys that go with them.
I’m just excited about it. The issue hits newsstands today (look for this pretty yellow and blue cover), but you can read our cover story here. However, to get the full effect–and to see our redesign–be sure and pick up a copy. Oh! And there’s a cool offer from the Spa at the Stoneleigh on p. 37 of the magazine. Mention the D Beauty ad and you’ll get a goody bag and 25% off services Monday through Wednesday. Pretty cool, eh? It pays to be a D Beauty reader, girls.
