I can’t wait to attend this Friday’s Fashion Group International’s Fashion & Lifestyle Awards that will take place at the W Loft (the old LFT space) at Victory Park. Instead of the traditional seated dinner/awards ceremony (which to be honest, can be quite boring), the cocktail party and presentation will be interactive this year. The purple carpet will be rolled out and famed fashion TV Host, Style Expert and Editor in Chief of PinkMemo.com, Katrina Szish will welcome honorees including Harry Bock, Danielle Teylor, Holly Haber, Rachelle Dauphinee, V.O.D., and Sartel. In addition to the awards and the fashion show of Dallas-based designers (including Abi Ferrin, Geoffrey Henning, L. Weatherread Design, Nha Khanh, Oscar Fierro, Rochelle Rodriguez and more) – produced by the ever-fashionable and imaginative Jan Strimple – the event will be textured with artisans and designers who will be on-hand working their crafts and mingling with guests throughout the evening. Highlights include:
It’s going to be a fun and fashionable night. For more information and to purchase tickets, go here. See you there!
Designer, Keith Lissner will be in town Wednesday for this month’s Fashion Dish (presented by Pink Memo & W Dallas – Victory) at Craft. The Chicago native – known for his ethereal evening gowns and attention to detail and construction (think layered bodice’s and hidden corsets) – was a contestant on the first season of The Fashion Show and designed menswear for Perry Ellis and Ralph Lauren before branching out on his own to design a collection of women’s demi-couture eveningwear in 2008. He also offers a line of lower-priced (although just as covetable) dresses under his newest label, Keith by Keith Lissner. View and order the Fall/Winter 2009 collections at the trunk show/luncheon on Wednesday. There are still 15 seats left! Contact Katie Bergfeld at 214.397.4106 to reserve your seat for only $45 (a portion of the proceeds benefit Two x Two for AIDS and Art).
P.S. Also attending: one of our favorite style guru’s and newly appointed Editor in Chief of PinkMemo, Katrina Szish. We can’t wait to meet Keith and catch up with Katrina! If you can’t make it and have any questions you want us to ask either of them, let me know and I will do a follow-up post on Thursday with answers to your questions.
As I promised, here are some tidbits from my interview with style guru, Katrina Szish who is in town for an event tonight at Martin + Osa. Here is a pic of Szish sporting head to toe Martin + Osa in the boutique at NorthPark last night. Aside from dishing style advice, Szish is currently working on a web video interview series called “Your 2 Minutes”, inspired by Andy Warhol’s quote about “15 minutes of fame”, two-minute (to appeal to the “shrinking attention spans” of today’s audience) up close and personal video clips on artists, designers (Diane Von Furstenberg), celebs (Justin Timberlake!), and other “fascinating” people. Look for those to come soon on her website. Jump for Szish’s favorite M + O pieces for spring/summer. If you don’t make it out tonight, Store Manager, Tommy Stockton, is always on hand to help you find just what you’re looking for to spruce up your wardrobe. Guys, there’s plenty for you there too! (more…)
Veteran style expert and pop culture journalist Katrina Szish is coming to town for an event at Martin + Osa. The media-savvy star has been a host, reporter, anchor, panelist, and expert for various media outlets such as CNN, Vogue, and television shows such as “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style” (the latest being the National Correspondent for InStyle Magazine, which she recently gave up to go out on her own). The event (co-hosted by Pink Memo founder Maxine Trowbridge) will be held at Martin + Osa’s boutique at NorthPark from 6-8. Guests will have a chance to get style tips from Szish as well as a 20% discount during the event. Better yet, the first 25 guests will receive a $25 gift card. Use it to stock up on spring must-haves, like this cute painted tee for just $34.50, a pair of white cargo’s for $69.50, and these snakeskin flip-flops for 54.50.
I interviewed Szish last time she came through town and will be doing so again tonight. Check back here tomorrow for what she has to say about Dallas, summer trends, and more. If you have any questions you’d like me to ask, let me know.
InStyle’s National Correspondent, Katrina Szish breezed through town yesterday for a fall fashion event at The Limited at NorthPark Center where the fashion expert was on hand to talk trends and give advice to eager shoppers. I sat down with the Harvard grad and fashion expert (whose resume is stacked with stylish jobs such as modeling, Fashion Editor, and television gigs on CNN and E! just to name a few), at Hotel Palomar to get her take on Dallas fashion, fall must-haves, New York Fashion Week, and more. Follow the jump to see what she had to say.
