Kira Plastinina, successful Russian fashion designer and 20-year-old SMU student, is opening her first American flagship store for LUBLU, her high-end line, this spring in the Plaza at Preston Center.
“I love Dallas and Dallas women,” Plastinina says. “I feel like it’s a very stylish city with a unique atmosphere and a fun shopping scene. And Dallas is my home, so it makes so much sense that this is my home base in the United States. And so many people always ask me where they can get my clothes, so I decided to bring LUBLU to them.”
Slated for a “mid spring” opening–we think that means March–LUBLU will offer full collections, starting, hopefully, with the spring 2013 collection, which is full of vivacious prints, sunny spring hues, and feminine dresses.

[...] We just talked about Kira Plastinina, Russian fashion designer and SMU girl, opening her first LUBLU boutique here in Dallas this spring. I mentioned her colorful spring collection, full of color (notably her neon yellow floor-length frock), but her autumn collection tops it. The fall 2013 campaign was shot by Tommy Ton, famous street style photographer, and features our own Jessica (formerly Olssen) Nowitzki, wife of Dirk Nowitzki. Also, making an appearance is beloved Man Repeller, Leandra Medine, in a print I’m head-over-heels in love with. I need that full striped floral print skirt.
