A New Yoga Studio Hits Henderson

Sonya Pepping, owner of Padma Yoga, does some stretching. When can we learn THAT? (photography by Joy Zhang)

A few months back, every time you blinked, a new yogurt shop popped up. Now, it’s yoga taking over every street. (Which is better for my hiney, so that’s good.) Gaia Flow Yoga is opening soon on Blackburn across from West Village, and a friend tells me a sweet, new place on Henderson called Padma Yoga is now her go-to yoga spot. I haven’t been, but she’s gushing about it, so it’s got to be okay, right?

Apparently, the owners are “lovely” and incredibly passionate about the sport. The 6 am class is run in the dark by candlelight (LOVE THAT), and classes can be tailored to all levels. The first 10 days will only cost you $10, so check it out and get your namaste on. Maybe it’ll be your new go-to yoga spot, too.
