Meet celebrity stylist, Mariel Haenn, this Wednesday, September 30 from 6-8pm on the first floor of the Saks Fifth Avenue store at the Dallas Galleria. Haenn’s clients include: Rihanna, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, Ashlee Simpson and Mandy Moore. She will be there promoting the Saks/Mastercard Fall Want It! collection which is “a must-have collection of cutting-edge looks alongside more accessible versions of the trends that dominated the runway shows.” Mariel will be giving fashion tips and styling guests for a photo on a virtual runway. You’ll even be able to take home a picture of yourself in your new look. Don’t miss this unique event!
Designer, Keith Lissner will be in town Wednesday for this month’s Fashion Dish (presented by Pink Memo & W Dallas – Victory) at Craft. The Chicago native – known for his ethereal evening gowns and attention to detail and construction (think layered bodice’s and hidden corsets) – was a contestant on the first season of The Fashion Show and designed menswear for Perry Ellis and Ralph Lauren before branching out on his own to design a collection of women’s demi-couture eveningwear in 2008. He also offers a line of lower-priced (although just as covetable) dresses under his newest label, Keith by Keith Lissner. View and order the Fall/Winter 2009 collections at the trunk show/luncheon on Wednesday. There are still 15 seats left! Contact Katie Bergfeld at 214.397.4106 to reserve your seat for only $45 (a portion of the proceeds benefit Two x Two for AIDS and Art).
P.S. Also attending: one of our favorite style guru’s and newly appointed Editor in Chief of PinkMemo, Katrina Szish. We can’t wait to meet Keith and catch up with Katrina! If you can’t make it and have any questions you want us to ask either of them, let me know and I will do a follow-up post on Thursday with answers to your questions.
Dear Well-Endowed ShopTalkers,
Are you tired of popping buttons on blouses? Sick of shirts spreading apart between the buttons and pulling across the front? Have you had enough of buying shirts to fit your bosom only to find the rest of the garment is ten sizes too big? Do you never again want to wear a v-neck top because they make you look like a hooker due to the fact that there just isn’t enough material to cover “the girls?” Yep, me too. Thank goodness the folks at Bratique Helene contacted me of all people. I was the perfect test subject for their blouses and dresses made to fit the well-endowed. The frocks are made in five different sizes ranging from small/well-endowed to large/really-endowed to extra large/well-endowed so wherever you are on the spectrum there is surely one for you. (Don’t miss the measuring instructions on their web site to help you figure out the perfect size.)
Everyone that knows me, knows my affection for cuffs. I’m loving local jewelry designer, Amanda Sterett’s new Livvy cuffs. Handmade from deerskin leather and precious and semi precious stones, they come in three sizes (small, medium, large) and are available in black, brown, camel, green, purple, or red. A simple and inexpensive ($130-$210) way to add a little something to your everyday look. View the entire collection here. Buy them at Melanie Gayle, The Shak, and A. Hooper now.
