Big News at Central Market

My first Dallas love, Central Market, is rockin’ and rollin’ these days. First, the new sushi bar (replacing the sandwich counter, across from the ice cream counter) is opening tomorrow. Yum-o (props to Rachael Ray). Second, the much-anticipated Cafe at Central Market is opening on Monday. I’ll be heading to the sneak preview tonight, and my tummy is rumbling just thinking about it. Or is that from all the Halloween candy I’ve been downing all day? Eh, whatev. I’ll give you an update tomorrow.

Clinique Medical + Chemical Peel = Match Made in Heaven

With the popularity of nonsurgical cosmetic procedures being what it is—especially in Dallas—the new Clinique Medical skincare line sounds like a grand idea. This recently launched skincare system is specifically formulated to help support skin before and after procedures such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser skin resurfacing. The products in the Optimizing Regimen kit, including the Probiotic Cleanser, the Skin Conditioning Treatment, the Recovery Week Complex, the Optimizing Treatment Cream, and the Daily SPF 38, also help manage redness and irritation and encourage even skin tone. The press materials I got say Clinique Medical is available only in physicians’ offices, but you can buy it online here.

Tuesday Night is Zumba Night at the Hilton Anatole

Shake your bon bon right off every Tuesday night at the hour-long Zumba class offered in the swanky Verandah Club at the Hilton Anatole. If you’ve missed the craze, Zumba is the high-energy Latin dance-inspired workout program that’ll boost your heart rate while inspiring saucy moves on the dance floor. It’s like a two-for. Two-for Tuesdays! The VC is normally a private fitness club, but non-members can drop in for $16 (plus tax). Tuesdays at 5:30.

Fab Abs Come in a Box. Who Knew?

All you silly girls struggling through crunches, side bends, and sit-ups are sweating it for nothing. Want fab abs? Just paint them on with Abs in a Box. This handy, er, complicated kit includes ab shadows and highlighters, ab primer, ab setting spray, ab stain, mini Kabuki brush, dual-sided body contouring and defining brush, and, most important of all, an instruction manual. Whew! That sounds like a lot of work. I could have done at least 30 crunches just in the time it took to type all that. If you want to try this out, go here to buy it. I wish you the best, but I’m guessing the personal training industry isn’t exactly quaking in its boots right now.
