For all you ladies who love to keep your shoes stored in the cardboard box they came in with a photo attached so you know what’s inside (if only I could be so organized!). Now you can organize your shoes in style with Clearly Glam shoe boxes by Gracienne Myers. See what’s inside the box and help the environment by doing so. The shoe box is made from recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (the same material used in disposable water bottle packaging). Apparently the recycling process burns less fuel, adds less waste to landfills and uses less invaluable natural resources, like oxygen, during production. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the boxes (which retail for $9.95 each here) will go to anti-global warming and water preservation organizations worldwide. Any product that keeps us glam while being green peaks our interest. This may just be the thing that makes me take that first step towards organizing my shoes in boxes after all. Maybe.
Back by popular demand (or request from MC—Hi, MC!), it’s “Fan Favorites!” This one’s pertinent. As the weather begins to chill, it’s time we discuss the best body lotions around. It’s our own preemptive strike against the dreaded ashy-knee-and-elbow syndrome so often experienced in the winter. Ick. I’ve found the best, of course (subject to change without prior notice, if necessary, to keep with policies perpetuating my big head), but I’ll turn on the comments so you can challenge my position. Jump for my top lotion pick. **Spoiler alert: It’s pictured, left. (more…)
Hear ye, hear ye! The Style Network (a.k.a. TV, as in, “Honey, will you turn on the TV?”) is searching for fashionable mother-daughter duos to star in a reality show based on The Fashionistas, a Dallas-based organization devoted to fashion appreciation. Think The Hills-meets-glamorous Dallas fashion philanthropy. Go here if you’re a fashionable young lady age 17 to 23. Go here if you’re that fashionable young lady’s fashionable, hip mom. Send all completed forms, pictures, and inquiries to Fashionistas founder Heidi Dillon at heidi.dillon@thefashionistas.org. And do it all by this Friday or you won’t be considered, thereby having no shot at becoming the next Heidi Montag!
