Cocktails + Fashion + Beauty = Good Time
Join local designer Abi Ferrin and D’Andra Simmons, creator of Hard Night Good Morning (featured in the summer 08 issue D Beauty), at a style and trunk show at the Heritage at the Stoneleigh on Tuesday, August 12, 7-9 pm. I can certainly think of worse things to do on a Tuesday. And, if you imbibe too much, that’s what Hard Night Good Morning is for. Brilliant!
Amanda Sterett Fall Line Coming Soon to Melanie Gayle
Melanie Ramon over at chic boutique Melanie Gayle in Snider Plaza just sent word that Amanda Sterett’s new fall collection will be in the store August 15. We got a preview of some of the pieces, and we certainly like what we see. The necklace pictured at left is just one example. But it’s really no surprise that these new pieces are super cute. Amanda’s been on a roll lately. Stephanie wrote about the local jewelry designer, who is known for her use of color, in the May issue of D Magazine when several of her pieces got picked up by none other than Kate Spade. Paper Source Opens at NorthPark
Speaking of NorthPark, I was there yesterday (trying to escape the heat) and stopped in Paper Source to pick up some thank you cards (still trying to get through the wedding gift thank-you’s. To those of you awaiting yours: I am not ungrateful…I’m just slow). The eco-friendly Chicago-based stationery store just opened and stocks plenty of paper including customized letterpress stationery, cards, gift wrap, and invitations. Also find journals, rubber stamps, photo albums, calendars, office supplies, party favors, DIY creative kits, fun gifts, how-to workshops, and more.
Go for Massage Gold
Texas Massage of Dallas, which you can read more about in an upcoming issue of D Beauty, is gearing up for the 2008 Olympics with a promotion that can make you a winner, too. If you can predict the country with the highest total medal count, you’ll get $15 off your next session. If your country finishes second, you’ll get $10 off, and it’s $5 off if your selection finishes in third place. But that’s not all. A free 60-minute massage goes to the person who can predict the top three countries, in order, for total medal count. The deadline for submissions is Thursday at midnight. sonyarenee Trunk Show at Epiphany
Shopping seems to be Dallas’ favorite pastime–especially when the temperature is in the triple digits. We love the feminine creations of Dallas jewelry designer Gina Renée Peranio, and we have featured her pieces in D Magazine and D Weddings.
